May the force be with us….
We used the force to create a Star Wars bedroom
My son is a massive Star Wars fan, to the point where if the TV show You Bet was still on (I know, showing my age again lol), he could name every character from the franchise whether they are in the movies or not. So it was only fair we gave him a Star Wars haven to feed his enthusiasm.
These are the before pics (it might look messy, but that’s actually it tidy)
These are some of the pics from during the whole operation
Up with the lining paper and paint.
Some pics of the finishing touches stage to pull the whole look together
Initially we were going to paint the ceiling in the blue we used on the top of half of the walls and stick glow the dark stars and X-wings, the Millennium Falcon and the Tie Fighters on the ceiling so they could be seen during the day as well as at night. But when I read the instructions for the glow in the dark stickers it said for maximum effect stick them onto a white or light coloured background. So we ditched the dark ceiling idea and just stuck them onto the white ceiling. You can just make out the glow in the dark stickers in the photo opposite.
I also painstakingly painted the Death Star lampshade with glow in the dark paint (it’s still only half finished and it took 3 days – who knew the Death Star had so many windows?!).
In my defense, it looks better in real life and my photography skills clearly aren’t doing it justice here.
Hope you enjoy the inspiration, thanks for stopping by! 😀
