Today we went out in our hometown of Paisley and decided to take part in the Paisley First’s dinosaur trail.
This involved us grabbing a couple of booklets with the map from one of the participating shops and several hours of hunting for huge Lego dinosaurs. It was quite a muggy and drizzly day today, so jackets were needed for the first time in about a month. We had fun doing the trail and I would recommend it for some family time.
The large dinosaurs on the map give you the locations and you have to write down their names, 5 small dinosaurs where it gives you their names and on the website there are clues as to where they are located. And finally there is one dinosaur that moves around every few days that you have to find. There are no clues for the hidden one, but most of the shop owners are willing to give you some clues on where it’s been or if they’ve heard where it might be hiding.
My kids completed it and posted their entries in the designated post box in The Paisley Centre. It says they get entered into the weekly prize draw but not what the prizes are.
Quite a few dinosaurs were in shops we don’t normally frequent, e.g. Mad Hatter’s coffee shop
The White Cart Company and we stopped into a little place we had only ever passed by before, The Little Coffee Company.
We stopped for a coffee in the latter when we were done and had a well deserved rest.
These are some of the dinosaurs, they’re all very impressive. Each one has sign with it that tells you how many people it took build it, how many hours it took and how many bricks it has.
If you have completed the dinosaur trail already and have a favourite, let us know in the comments below. Or perhaps you’ve created your own Lego brick dinosaur, please share them with us, we’d love to see them.
