Easter Crafts 2019
This week the kids and I decided to decorate our Easter tree. We used the shop bought decorations we have and we tried crafting some new ones.
Our pom pom crafts resulted in two bunny rabbits, a sheep and a chick.
What we used:
Wool – yellow, white and brown
Pom pom makes – 2 different sizes
Foam – brown, orange, pink and black
Googly eyes – various sizes
Glue gun and sticks
Rabbits
We started by making the rabbits.
1. Set up the glue gun on a heat resistant surface and switch it on to heat up
2. Make a large brown pom poms and two small brown ones
3. Join them together using an extra piece of wool
4. Trim around the neck area so there is more of a distinction
5. Cut out ear shapes from brown foam
6. Cut out smaller ear shapes from pink foam
7. Cut out a small triangle nose shape from pink foam
8. Now that your glue gun should be heat up, stick the pink and brown ears together
9. Glue the ears where the small pom pom and the large pom pom meet
10. Glue the nose on the front of the small pom pom
11. Glue the eyes on either side of the small pom pom a little back from the nose
And there you have it, your very own little bunny rabbit.
Sheep
- Set up the glue gun on a heat resistant surface and switch it on to heat up
- Make a pom pom using white wool
- Cut black sheep face and legs out of black foam
- Use the glue gun to stick on the eyes to the face
- Glue the face onto the pom pom
- Turn the pom pom upside down and glue on the legs – if glue correctly you sheep should stand up.
There you have it, your very own sheep (or lamb if you made a small pom pom), our pom pom was too large in comparison to our rabbit so we called it a sheep rather than a lamb.
Chick
- Set up the glue gun on a heat resistant surface and switch it on to heat up
- Make a pom pom using yellow wool
- Cut feet shapes out of the orange foam
- Cut a beak out of orange foam – we cut a diamond shape
- Fold the beak in half so it looks as if it is closed, then add glue on the closed side and stick it to the pom pom
- Glue the feet on the bottom so it can stand up
- Lastly, glue on the eyes at either side of the beak.
That’s it! Well done you now have your very own chick.
